B.F. BAKER, 92, DIES AT HOME
RITES AT METHODIST CHURCH SUNDAY, 2:30

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for B. F. Baker, 92, who died at his home east of Clear Lake Thursday evening after a long period of failing health, will be held at the Methodist Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with burial in Clear Lake cemetery. The Rev. Warner M. Hubbard, pastor, will officiate. Ward's funeral home is in charge of arrangements.

Benjamin Franklin Baker was born March 31, 1857, in Green county, Wisconsin, son of Benjamin C. and Lydia Case Baker, and grew to manhood in that community. March 9, 1879, he was married to Miss Annie Miner. In 1886 they sold their farm in Wisconsin and moved to Clear Lake where they purchased prairie land and built the present home east of town. Mrs. Baker died may 29, 1946.

Besides his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 2 sisters, 2 sons, Laverne C., who died Feb. 13, 1944, and Elbert C., who died at 3 years and a granddaughter, Mrs. Amy Lou Haight Poppen who died July 15, 1946.

Surviving are 3 children, Ray M. Baker, on the home farm; Miss Bessie V. Baker, at home, and Mrs. Elgar Z. (Vivian) Haight, Mason City, 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Mr. Baker, in his active years, was interested in the affairs of the community and served the public in various capacities until his health failed. He was a member of the Methodist church.
