M. L. THAYER DIES IN WEST

CLEAR LAKE – M. L. Thayer, 74, business man in Clear Lake for many years, died suddenly early Saturday at a hospital in Santa Cruz, Calif., according to word received by friends here. He was stricken Friday by a heart attack.

Surviving are his wife, Mary, and a daughter, Mrs. Ray (Maude) Junk, San Francisco and several brothers.

Mr. and Mrs. Thayer left Clear Lake several years ago to make their home at 4395 Court Drive, Santa Cruz. He operated a fishing resort and cabins on the North Shore for a number of years. Prior to that he operated a grocery and news stand in Clear Lake for many years.

He and Mrs. Thayer visited in Clear Lake in 1954 and at that time sold his remaining property which included Shady Beach and cabins.

Services will be held in California. The family made a request that no flowers be sent. Any gifts will be given to the heart and cancer association.
