MRS. M. THAYER, FORMER RESIDENT, DIES IN CALIFORNIA

CLEAR LAKE – Clear Lake friends have received word of the death of a former Clear Lake resident, Mrs. M. L. (Mary Jane) Thayer, 84. Mrs. Thayer died Friday of a heart attack at her home, 4395 Court Drive., Santa Cruz, Calif.

Rites were incomplete at White’s Mortuary, Santa Cruz. A daughter, Mrs. Ray (Maude) Junk, 1219 Lombard St., San Francisco, survives her. She was preceded in death by her husband, M. L. (Jake) Thayer, in 1956.

The Thayers moved to Santa Cruz in 1952. They operated a fishing resort and cabins on the North Shore for a number of years, and prior to that had a grocery and newsstand in Clear Lake for many years. They also owned the Shady Beach property, including the night club, several cottages and another building which they sold in 1954 to Mr. and Mrs. A. T. Tageson.

While in Clear Lake Mrs. Thayer was a member of Park Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, and the Methodist Church.
