IVA M. PETERSEN

Mrs. Iva M. Petersen, 83, of 310 N. 9th Street, Clear Lake, died April 9 in a Mason City hospital.

She was born Sept. 17, 1898 in Indiana, the daughter of Sherman and Mattie Hanna. She moved to Clear Lake with her parents as a young child, and attended Clear Lake schools.

She was a member of the Congregational Church, the Rebekah Lodge, Star Club, ODO (charter member) and Royal Club, all in Clear Lake.

She was married to Verne Petersen on April 10, 1917. He preceded her in death, as did her parents and her infant son, George.

Survivors include a son, Dick, of West Des Moines; a daughter, Betty (Mrs. James) Oleson of Clear Lake; and two grandchildren.

Services were held Tuesday, April 13, at the Congregational Church, with the Rev. Kenneth Ubbelohde, officiating. Organist was Pat Treloar, and a duet was sung by Larry and Kathy Shaffer.

Pallbearers were Paul Callanan, M.W. Hughes, Gerald Brooks, Robert Glanville, Robert Nichols and S.W. Pierce.

Interment was in Clear Lake Cemetery. The Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel was in charge of arrangements.
