DALE W. FREDERICKS

Funeral services were at 11 a.m. Saturday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, Clear Lake, for Dale W. Fredericks, 66, of Marshalltown, formerly of Clear Lake, who died Monday (July 29, 1985) at an Iowa City hospital.

The Rev. James Louk officiated and burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery, where military rites were conducted by the Clear Lake VFW.

Mr. Fredericks had worked as a salesman and manager for 25 years for Gamble-Robinson stores in Oelwein, Fort Dodge, Mason City, and Holdrege, Neb.

He moved to Clear Lake in 1955 and owned and operated Foodland Grocery Store here from 1955-62. He lived in Fort Dodge from 1962-64 and in Ames from 1964-81. He had worked for the Duro Test Co., retiring in 1981. In 1982 he moved to Marshalltown.

Mr. Fredericks was born May 17, 1919 in Franklin County to William H. and Augusta (Meyer) Fredericks. He attended Hampton schools and graduated from Hampton High School. He had also served in the Army during World War II and was a member of the United Methodist Church, Clear Lake.

Survivors include four sons, Dr. Michael Fredericks, Clear Lake; Steven Fredericks, Columbus, Ga.; William Fredericks, New York, N.Y., and Jeffrey Fredericks, Dubuque; and two brothers, Clarence and Russell, both of Hampton.

Honorary pallbearers were Steven Fredericks, Douglas Fredericks, Marty J. Fredericks, and John-Luke Fredericks.

Pallbearers were Michael Fredericks, Steven Fredericks, William Fredericks, and Jeffrey Fredericks.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Daughter Dawn, and a grandson.
