PLANS FOR FUNERAL ARE INCOMPLETE
CLEAR LAKE – Edward Long, 62, died at his home, 212 S. 3rd street, about 10 o’clock Sunday evening following a heart attack. He had been in poor health for some time.
Mr. Long was born in Lake township, near Burchinal, July 22, 1882, son of Mr. and Mrs. Abner Long, and grew to manhood in that locality. Feb. 22, 1906, he was married to Miss Cora Brandt and they continued to live on a farm near Burchinal until last year when they retired and moved to Clear Lake because of Mr. Long’s health.
Besides his wife Mr. Long is survived by 3 children, Harold Long, Rockwell; Mrs. Wilbur Young, San Diego, Cal.; and Miss Anzonetta at home; 3 brothers, Will Long, Riverside, Cal.; Oscar Long, Clear Lake, and George Long, Mason City, and a granddaughter, Henrietta Ferne Long. One daughter, Lavonne Marcella, died at 18 months.
Mr. Long was baptized as a child and was a member of the Zion Lutheran church.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending word from Mrs. Young. The body is at Ward’s funeral home. Burial will be in Clear Lake cemetery.
