FUNERAL OF AGED MAN AT WARD’S MONDAY, 1:30

CLEAR LAKE - D. Johnson Hills, 89 207 Grant street, died at a Clear Lake nursing home Saturday morning after an illness of 2 weeks. Funeral services will be held at Ward’s funeral home Monday at 1:30 o’clock. Burial will be in Clear Lake cemetery.

Mr. Hills was born April 4, 1856, near West Union but had lived at Clear Lake more than 50 years. He was a carpenter by trade. March 12, 1895, he was married to Miss Isabel H. Ward, Clear Lake, who died May 1, 1941. They had no children.

Mr. Hills is survived by a sister, Mrs. F. H. Selfe, Jackson, Mich.; a niece, Mrs. Alma Carpenter, Hopewell, Va., and several other nieces and nephews whose names are not available.

Miss Thora Collier, Waterloo, and Mrs. C. C. Searles, Postville, nieces of Mrs. Hills, also survive.
