CLARENCE E. BOELMAN

Clarence E. Boelman, 57, 700 South 12th St., Clear Lake, died on Monday, December 5 at the Veterans Hospital, Des Moines, following an illness during the past year.

Funeral services are at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, December 8 at the Zion Lutheran Church, Pastor Murley A. Severtson will officiate and interment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Clarence Eldon Boelman was born November 16, 1920 at Meservey, the son of Ben and Ella (Eckhoff) Boelman.

Following his education in Meservey, he worked in Belmond in the soybean plant and for 18 years with Federal Grain Dealers Assoc., Mason City, Iowa.

He was married to Helene (Pannkuk) Boelman on June 21, 1947 at Kanawha, Ia. They lived in Belmond before coming to Clear Lake in 1953.

In the past 11 years he and his wife have operated the Boelman Trucking, Livery and Moving business.

He is survived by his wife, Helene, three daughters, Mrs. Diann Sowder, Clear Lake, Mrs. Melvin (Cindy) Brown, Ventura and Mrs. Bruce (Terry) Carlson, Clear Lake and 2 step children, Mrs. Lee (Irene) Doland, and Alvin Jacobs, both of Springfield, Ill. Five brothers, Ben, Henry, and Andrew Boelman, Meservey and Harry of Belmond, Donald Boelman, Tucson, Ariz., four sisters, Mrs. Herman (Hannah) Modderman, Alexander, Mrs. C. K. (Grace) Johnson, Meservey, Mrs. George (Emma) Wessels, Belmond and Mrs. Alice Steenblock, Goodell, Ia. There are 11 grandchildren.

Mrs. A. E. Folkmann is organist, Mrs. Donald Kacer soloist.

Pallbearers are, Pete Schmidt, Myron Trager, Calvin Johnson, Donald Gansen, Raymond Rooks and Harley Coyier.
