MRS. CULVER, PIONEER, DIES
CLEAR LAKE – Mrs. D. H. (Ida May) Culver, 91, died early Sunday at the IOOF Home, Mason City, where she had made her home for the past nine years.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at Ward Funeral Home. The Rev. H. E. Trumble, pastor of the Christian Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.
Mrs. Culver came to Clear Lake with her parents when she was three years old. She was born Feb. 16, 1866, in Dodge County, Wis., the daughter of Titus and Regina Beaver. Mrs. Culver was a member of the first graduating class of Clear Lake High School.
On Aug. 29, 1890 she was married to Darwin H. Culver at Clear Lake. They lived on S. 8th street for many years farming land which is now the Andersen-Christensen Addition. Mr. Culver died in 1942.
She was a Sunday school teacher of the adult class of the Methodist church for many years. She was an early member of Sorosis Club.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. R. A. (Faith) Monaghen, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Besides her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter and one sister.
