Max Andrus Succombs in California

Max L. Andrus, 65, Pacific Palisades, Calif., a native of Mason City, died at his home Thursday following an illness.

Mr. Andrus was born Nov. 7, 1888, at Mason City. He was married to Lucy Potter Nov. 18, 1909, in Mason City. They lived here until 1923 when they moved to Mora, Minn., where they farmed a number of years until moving to California.

Surviving are his wife, Lucy; a daughter, Mrs. Walter Frank, Tucson, Ariz.; three sons, Lloyd of Phoenix, Ariz.; Keith of Cincinnati, Ohio, and the Rev. Roger Andrus, St. Louis, Mo.; nine grandchildren, and a brother, Harry Andrus, Chicago. He was preceded in death by two brothers.

The body is expected to arrive in Mason City Tuesday afternoon.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Major Memorial Chapel, with the Rev. Peter Jansen, pastor of the First Congregational Church, officiating. Interment will be at Elmwood Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel from Tuesday evening until the time of services.
