John Woodyard Dies in Hospital
Rites to Be Monday Morning at Church

John Leon Woodyard, 50, of route 4, died suddenly at 2 p. m. Friday at a local hospital following an illness. He had resided in Mason City for the past 10 years.

Mr. Woodyard was born July 26, 1899, at Melchoin, Iowa. He attended the schools there and in 1930 moved to Clear Lake. After a number of residences in Iowa he moved to Mason City in 1940 and was married to Ethel Williamson, Sept. 18, 1945.

He was employed at the International Chemical and Mineral company in Mason City and was a member of the Holy Family Catholic church and the Moose lodge.

Surviving are his wife, a step-son, Bert Kiefer, Mason City, and a stepdaughter, Mrs. Arlo Everhart, Denver, Colo., and 2 brothers, Joseph Woodyard, Montgomery, Ala., and Cecil Woodyard, Clear Lake, and nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at the Holy Family Catholic church Monday at 9 a. m., with the Rt. Rev. Msgr. A. J. Breen officiating. Interment will be at St. Joseph's Catholic cemtery.

The Rosary will be said at 8 p. m. Sunday at the McAuley and Son chapel.
