VIRGINIA M. BROERS

CLEAR LAKE – Virginia M. Broers, 67, of 1403 S. Shore Drive, Clear Lake, died Monday (March 16, 1987) at a Mason City hospital.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th, Clear Lake, with the Rev. James Louk officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be after 3 p.m. today at the funeral home.

The family requests memorials be made to the Virginia M. Broers Memorial Fund.

Born Jan. 13, 1920, in Broadview, Mont., she was the daughter of William and Electia (Wilbur) Myers. At an early age she moved to Clear Lake with her parents where she attended school. On Jan. 16, 1938, she married David Broers in Clear Lake. They farmed north of Clear Lake until 1958. Mr. Broers died in 1960. She moved into Clear Lake in 1968.

She was a member of the Methodist Church, Clear Lake.

Survivors include one son, Wayne, Clear Lake; three grandchildren; and two sisters, Mrs. Hazel Jewett, Grand Rapids, Minn., and Mrs. Duane (Irene) Aske, Clear Lake.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and two sisters.
