Michael Smith, 4-months-old, dies at home

Michael Joseph Smith, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, 515 9th NW, died Saturday morning of apparent suffocation. The infant was born Sept. 13, 1964, to George and Ardyce Smith, in Mason City.

Mr. Smith is a Linntype operator at the Mason City Globe-Gazette

Surviving are the parents, three sisters, Deborah, Margaret and Sandra, and a brother, George Jr.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Lavern R. Hanson will officiate. The Major-Erickson Funeral Home is in charge.

Michael Smith funeral is held in church

The funeral for Michael Joseph Smith, infant son of Mr. and Mrs. George Smith, 515 9th NW, was held Monday afternoon at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Lavern R. Hanson officiated.

The infant died Saturday of virus pneumonia.

Surviving are the parents; three sisters, Deborah K., Margaret M., Sandra J., and a brother, George M. III, all at home; the grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Daryle Smith, Mason City, and Mr. and Mrs. Leo George, Bemidji, Minn.; great-grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Harrison Hedgecock, Mason City, and Mr. and Mrs. J. S. George, Forest City; and a great-great-grandmother, Augusta Carman, Clear Lake.

Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. The Major-Erickson Funeral Home was in charge.
