Susie Olson service set for Tuesday

Susie Olson, 79, died Saturday afternoon at a Mason City hospital. She had lived in Mason City 33 years and made her home at 234 6th SE.

Mrs. Olson was born Feb. 16, 1882, in Highland Township, Winneshiek County. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thor Thorson. She lived in Decorah until 1928, when she moved to Mason City.

She was married to Sever Olson in September 1902 at Decorah.

Surviving are her husband, Mason City; two daughters, Mrs. J. P. (Margaret) Hearity and Mrs. Clifford (Gail) Pierce, both of Mason City; two sons, Alvin Olson, Mason City, and Maj. Sigurd Olson, Ankara, Turkey; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter in 1921 and by four brothers and three sisters.

Mrs. Olson was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and a life member of the W.M.F. of Trinity.

Funeral serices will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Lavern R. Hanson will officiate. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. The family said memorials may be given to the Susie Olson Memorial Fund of Trinity Lutheran Church. The Major-Erickson Funeral Home is in charge.
