Mrs. Richard (Aletha Ruth) O'Banion, 35, died suddenly Sunday morning at her home, 717 Adams SW. She had lived in Mason City 20 years.
Mrs. O'Banion was born Dec. 23, 1925, at Kanawha, daughter of Gailerd E. and Melva (Michelson) Erickson. She attended school in Kanawha and Britt, and was married to Richard O'Banion June 3, 1944, in Mason City.
She was a member of Central Lutheran Church of Mason City.
Surviving are her husband, five children, Richard E. O'Banion Jr., 14, Stanley, 13, Duane, 10, Deborah, 6, and Jon 18 months, all at home; her father, Gailerd E. Erickson, Valley, Wis., and mother, Melva O'Banion (Erickson?), Mason City.
Three brothers Gailerd E. Erickson, Jr., and Jay S. Erickson, both of Mason City, and James S. Erickson, Santa Ana, Calif., and three sisters, Mrs. Melvin (Eleanor) Johnson, Mrs. Jerry (Carol) King and Mrs. Charles (Virginia) McClung, all of Mason City, also survive. She was preceded in death by a sister.
Funeral arrangements are incomplete. Friends may call at the McAuley-Scanlan-Peterson Chapel from 4 p.m. Thursday until 12 o'clock noon Wednesday.
[Interment was made at Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.]

Funeral services for Mrs. Richard E. (Aletha Ruth) O'Banion, 35, who died Sunday, were held Wednesday afternoon at the Central English Lutheran Church. The Rev. Roy Merrod officiated.
Mrs. O. C. Sorlein ws organist. Mrs. Arthur J. Johnson and Mrs. Dale Grover were in charge o flowers.
Honorary pallbearers were Jack O. Grapp and Arthur J. Johnson. Pallbearers were Robert Varnce, Larry Nichols, Vera Bohl, Dale Crover, Lee VanHouten and M. A. Thompson. Burial was in Memorial Park Cemetery. The McAuley-Scanlan-Peterson Funeral Home was in charge.
