LILLIAN BROOKS
Mrs. Lillian Brooks, 87, long time Clear Lake resident, died Wednesday afternoon at a Clear Lake nursing home where she had been for the past 2 years.
Funeral services were held at 3:30 p.m. on Friday at the Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home. Rev. James K. Delahooke, United Methodist Church officiated and burial was in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
Born near Goodell on July 7, 1887, she was the daughter of John and Elizabeth (Eichmeier) Etchen.
Mrs. Brooks was the head cook at Halford’s Café for many years.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. C. E. (Ferne) Melcher; and a son, Gerald I. Brooks, both of Clear Lake. Two grandchildren and five great grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Fred Bell; and two brothers, Fred and Albert Etchen, all of Klemme.
Organist was Mrs. Tom Treloar. Duet was sung by Mr. and Mrs. Larry Shaffer.
Pallbearers were John Klein, Art Petersen, Charles W. Crane, Jack Hepp, Don Gabrielson, and Robert Colburn.
