Rites set for Mrs. F. M. Clarke, 91

Mrs. F. M. (Margaret Elizabeth) Clarke, 91, died Saturday at a Mason City nuursing home. She had lived in Mason City 30 years and made her home at 229 10th NW.

Mrs. Clarke was born Aug. 26, 1873, at Brooklyn, N.Y., daughter of Joshua and Elizabeth (Johnson) Hutchinson. She was married to Frederick M. Clarke of Dubuque, Nov. 12, 1895. They lived in Dubuque until 1930 when they moved to Stony Creek, Conn.

She moved to Mason City in July, 1954, and had made her home here since that time. [Date doesn't agree with statement that she lived in Mason City for 30 years.]

Mrs. Clarke was an active member of the First Congregational Church. She was given a reception in the church Fellowship Room on her 90th birthday.

Surviving are two sons, Walker Clarke, Mason City, and Frederick L. Clarke, New Milford, Conn.; six grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, and brother, Arthur N. Hutchinson, Los Angeles, Calif. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1954 and by a daughter and a sister.

The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Major Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Robert L. Stone, pastor of the First Congregational Church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Linwood Cmetery at Dubuque. The family prefers that any memorials be given to the First Congregational Church library.
