JAMES E. BOEHNKE SR.

CLEAR LAKE – James E. Boehnke Sr., 56, 1112 Main Ave., Clear Lake, died Wednesday (July 9, 1986) at home.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday at Zion Lutheran Church, 112 N. 4th St., Clear Lake. The Rev. Keith Tomlinson will officiate with burial in Clear Lake Cemetery.

He was born April 2, 1930 in rural Ventura to Edward and Elsie Boehnke. He attended Ventura schools and graduated from Garner High School in 1947. He drove a bulk tank truck for the Hancock Oil Co., Garner for 10 years.

In April 1950, he was married to Gloria Greiman. They lived in Garner. She died in 1954.

He was married to Norma Huntley on Nov. 26, 1960 at Zion Lutheran Church in Clear Lake. They lived in Clear Lake where he was a salesman for an agri-business until the time of his death.

He was a member of Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, and a former member of the Garner Lions Club.

Visitation will be after 4 p.m. Thursday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th St., Clear Lake. Memorials may be given to the James E. Boehnke, Sr. Memorial Fund.

Survivors include his wife, Norma; two sons, James Boehnke, Jr. of Clear Lake, and gene Greiman of Perry; two daughters, Marilyn Ewing of Mason City and Lana Bliel, Kingsley; four sisters, Mrs. Lucille McMillan, Grundy Center; Mrs. Erma Nissen, Ames; Mrs. Marilyn Hayes, Garner; and Mrs. Kay Eginton, Iowa City, one brother, Don, Omaha, Neb.; and four grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Gloria; and an infant sister.
