JOHN F. BITKER

John F. Bitker, 85, Clear Lake, died Monday, Jan. 10 at a Mason City Hospital.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 13 at the Evangelical Free Church, Clear Lake with Rev. Raymond Faust, officiating. Interment in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mrs. Stanley Bruce is the organist and Mr. and Mrs. Denzil Hoskins will sing. Flower ladies are Mrs. Paul Kuns and Mrs. Donald Neuberger. Ushers are Harlan Snow and Charles Heuberger. James Funeral Home is in charge.

Bitker was born July 23, 1891 at Sabula, Ia., the son of Carl Bitker and Margaretta Hinze. He was married to Mabel Johnson, July 15, 1936 at Nashua, Ia.

John Bitker was a retired Manly and Northwood area farmer and lived in Clear Lake community for 15 years.

He was a member of the Evangelical Free Church, Clear Lake and a member of the Clear Lake Lions Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel, Clear Lake; two sons, Maurice Bitker, Oceanside, Calif. And John Bitker, Tuscon, Ariz.; three daughters, Mrs. Gunder (Mildred) Clemenson, Kensett, Ia., Mrs. O. E. (Gladys) Dahl, Manly and Mrs. Geraldine Kaloplastos, Springdale, Ark., 14 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and four great great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, four sisters and his first wife, Hattie in 1928.

Active pallbearers are Stanley Brue, Herb Thornberg, Herb Star, Robert Grabinski, Arnold Moeller, and Larry Svaboda.

Honorary pallbearers are Elmer Bowers, George Braun, Art Grams, Mark Arneson, Clifford Vestal and Paul Kuns.

The family prefers memorials.
