ELIZABETH OSTRANDER

CLEAR LAKE – Elizabeth “Liz” Ostrander, 65, of 1400 E. Main St., Clear Lake, died Wednesday (Feb. 18, 1987) at her home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake. The Rev. Edward Shields will officiate, with burial in Clear Lake Cemetery.

She was born Aug. 2, 1921, at Stacyville to Joseph and Mary (Theobold) Mayer. She attended rural schools in Stacyville. She came to Clear Lake and worked at the Ritz supper club for 20 years.

On Feb. 18, 1946, she was married to Harris “Red” Ostrander. She also worked at the Corner Drug for over 20 years, retiring in 1983.

She was a member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Clear Lake.

Visitation is after 3 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. 4th, Clear Lake. A Scriptural wake service will be held at 7:30 tonight at the funeral chapel.

Survivors include her husband, Harris “Red” of Clear Lake; her mother, Mrs. Mary Mayer of Stacyville; two sons, Jim of Waterloo, and Tim, Clear Lake; three daughters, Mrs. Bob (Sharon) Sallee, Indianola; Mrs. Jon (Mary) Harvey, Clear Lake, and Mrs. Doug (Cindy) Christensen, Cedar Falls; two brothers, Paul and Gene Mayer, both of Osage; three sisters, Mrs. Paul (Marge) Weis, Stacyville; Mrs. Bill (Yvonne) Yezek, Peoria, Ill., and Mrs. Jerry (Betty Lou) Farrell, Elmhurst, Ill.; and 11 grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by four sisters.
