MARY CATHERINE PRUITT

Mrs. Mary Catherine Pruitt was born March 18, 1899, the daughter of Frank and Elizabeth (Enright) Dinger in Howard County, Iowa.

She received her early education in that area. She was married to Charles Pruitt in 1929 at Mason City and the made their home in Clear Lake. Mrs. Pruitt had previously been employed at Mercy Hospital in Mason City.

During World War II she worked in the Kaiser shipyards at Vancouver and later upon returning to Clear Lake had worked at the Winnebago County Home and in several Clear Lake restaurants.

She was preceded in death by her husband and by one brother.

Surviving are a brother, David Dinger of Saratoga, Iowa; a sister, Mrs. Elizabeth McCrane, Cresco; two nieces, Mrs. Ione Jones of Cresco and Mrs. Robert Miles of Cresco; and one nephew, Virgil McCrane of Chester.

Mrs. Pruitt died on Saturday evening at a Clear Lake nursing home at the age of 79 years. Her home was at 207 South 10th Street.

Services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday (today) at Ward-Van Slyke colonial Chapel. Interment will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Organist will be Mrs. Tom Treloar.

Pallbearers are Walter Cookman, Robert Cash, Lincoln Johnson, Keith Holt, Robert Grabinski and T. F. Guthrie.
