MABEL PAUL RITES TO BE ON MONDAY

CLEAR LAKE – Miss Mabel Paul, 92, 100 S. 8th St., died Thursday evening at a local nursing home where she had been the last six months.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home with the Rev. Gary Gonnerman of the Clear Lake Regular Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mabel Paul was born Oct. 6, 1880 at Riceville, the daughter of F. G. and Matilda (Peitzke) Paul. In 1892 the family moved to a farm north of Clear Lake in Grant Township.

Miss Paul had made her home with her parents and following her mother’s death in 1938, she lived with a sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Butz, Clear Lake. In 1961, she moved with her sister into town. She had lived on the farm home in Grant Township 56 years.

She is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Earl (Alice) Butz and Mrs. Roy (Edna) Hammond. There are several nieces and nephews.

Besides her mother, she was preceded in death by her father in 1931, and a sister, Mrs. George (Amy) Nissen.

Pallbearers selected include Eugene Howland, Theodore Schwartz, Lester Kottler, Robert Wells, Sherwood Loops, Hans Henriksen, Calvin Pippert and J.O. Hammond.
