A.H. SKELLINGER DIES SUDDENLY
ARRANGEMENTS FOR RITES INCOMPLETE

CLEAR LAKE – A. H. Skellinger, 80, died at a Mason City hospital Sunday evening following a major operation performed a week ago. Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending word from relatives at a distance. The body is at the Wilcox Funeral Home.

Mr. Skellinger was born in Adams County March 9, 1873, son of Albert and Elvira Skellinger. He lived at Mountain Lake and Springfield, Mo., for a time and then moved to Cerro Gordo County where he farmed near Burchinal and at Wheeler Ranch in Lincoln Township. He was a housemover 40 years, retiring 12 years ago.

In 1896 he was married to Miss Margaret Richardson who died in 1934 and is buried in Clear lake Cemetery. Mr. Skellinger had made his home with his son, Howard Skellinger, Clear Lake, the past eight years.

Besides his son, Howard, he is survived by another son, Charles Raymond Skellinger, Coos Bay, Ore.; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Ruth) Chadwick, Santa Ana, Calif.; six grandsons, two granddaughters; four great-grandsons and a brother, W. B. Skellinger, Lake Mills.

Besides his wife, he was preceded in death by four brothers and four sisters.

Transcriber’s Note – Albert H. Skellinger was born March 9, 1873, died 1953 and was buried in the Clear lake Cemetery, Section 5/6 Row 1. Headstone indicates he was born 1875 and last name was spelled Skellenger.
