GUY WARNER FUNERAL TO BE SATURDAY

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Guy J. Warner, 57, will be Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Methodist Church with Dr. John A. DeLong officiating. Burial will be in Clear Lake Cemetery. The Ward Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Warner died Wednesday morning at a local nursing home after an illness of several months.

Guy Jotham Warner was born Nov. 12, 1905, at San Bernardino, Calif., to Guy J. and Anna (Anderson) Warner. His father died when Mr. Warner was 10 months old. His mother brought the family to Clear Lake when he was six.

He attended country schools and was graduated from Hamilton College and a Kansas City welding school. During the early part of World War II he was employed in shipyards in Wilmington, Calif., returning to Clear Lake to farm in 1942.

He was a member of the Methodist Church, chairman of Grant Township ASC, member of NFO and Flying Farmers, secretary of Grant No. 7 school board and was on the board of directors of Farmers Evening School.

Survivors include his mother, Mrs. S. T. Hammond; two brothers, J. Otis Hammond and Rodney Hammond, both of Clear Lake; one sister, Mrs. Tilman (Verna) Thompson, Windom, Minn., five nieces and one nephew.

Transcriber’s Note – Guy Jotham Warner was born November 12, 1905, died July 1963 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section A Row 13.
