Comrades of Son Carry Mother to Last Resting Place
The first victim of the war in Mason City, Mrs. Elizabeth Bouldin, who died at a hospital from a stroke of paralysis sustained when she went to the depot to watch her son, Charles R. Bouldin, leave for Des Moines, was buried today.
The pallbearers were comrades of her son, who until a few days ago, when transferred to the Third Iowa infantry, was a member of Company D. The members of the company still here sent a fine display of flowers to the house. The services were held at the home of a daughter, Mrs. E.N. Norquist, 604 South President avenue, with Rev. W.J. Minchin in charge. Burial was at Elmwood.
Mrs. Bouldin's son, Private Charles R Bouldin, was furloughed by his commanding officer, that he might attend the funeral.
