JERRY CRAIG ASHLAND
CLEAR LAKE – Jerry Craig Ashland, 38, of Sherman Oaks, Calif., formerly of Clear Lake, died Monday (Dec. 28, 1992) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, with John L. Ayers officiating. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at the chapel. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of North Iowa in memory of Jerry Craig Ashland.
Jerry Craig Ashland was born June 19, 1954, a son of Albert and Mary Lou (Freudenberg) Ashland. He attended and received his elementary education in the Holy Family Catholic School system and graduated from Newman Catholic High School in 1973. He also attended North Iowa Area Community College in Mason City and the University of California at Santa Barbara.
He lived in California for 12 years and was a resident of New York City for eight years until returning to California in February of 1992.
He enjoyed cooking, writing, traveling and music and was an avid reader.
Survivors include his mother, Mary Lou Ashland, Clear Lake; four sisters, Karen and her husband Larry Schroeder, Clear Lake, Brenda and her husband Jeff Heinz, Mason City, Rosemary and her husband Mark Norlin, Ames, and Janice Ashland and her fiancé Garry Mac Neill, Agoura Hills, Calif.; two brothers, Keith Ashland, Grandview, Mo., and Larry Ashland, Clear Lake; several nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Albert Christopher Ashland, who died on Oct. 29, 1991.
