Matt Harmon, 41, passed away on Sunday, October 24, 2010. A Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in West Des Moines with burial at Resthaven Cemetery.

Matt was born May 9, 1969 and grew up in Mason City, IA. He was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, enjoyed watching sports, playing softball and cooking. His real passion was being a dad and spending time with family and friends. He will always be remembered for his smile, his great sense of humor, his adventurous spirit and his of love of life.

Matt is survived by his wife, Tamara; son, Nicholas; daughter, Ashley of Clive; mother Shirley Harmon of Mason City; sister, Shannon Harmon of Des Moines; father-in-law, Al Krhounek of Lincoln, NE; sister-in-law Stacey (Dan) Spence; niece, Jordan and nephews, Ryan and Nathan of Alabaster, AL.

Matt was preceded in death by his father, Dale Harmon; mother-in-law, Ann Krhounek and his grandparents.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at McLaren's Chapel with a Prayer Service at 7 p.m.
