Obituary - Jennie Crepaw Fontaine
August 29, 1852 ~ February 18, 1941

MRS. FONTAIN, 88, SUCCUMBS

Rites for Rock Falls Woman to Be Held at Local Church Friday

Mrs. Jennie Crepaw Fontaine, 88, died at her home on Mill street in Rock Falls at 11:15 o'clock Wednesday morning, after suffering a stroke at 7 o'clock Monday morning.

Mrs. Fontaine was born Aug. 29, 1852, in Bomyou, Canada. She moved to the United States from Canada at the age of 13 years. After residing in Vermont, she moved to Milwaukee, Wis., and then to this community, where she resided in and near Mason City. For the past 25 years she had been a resident of Rock Falls.

Mrs. Fontaine was twice married, to Louis Charles Crepaw, Nov. 22, 1870, who preceded her in death Aug. 2, 1877, and later to William Fontaine, who preceded her in death, May 17, 1034.

Surviving Mrs. Fontaine are a son, L. C. Crepaw, and five grandchildren, Mrs. Harry Farrer, Mason City; Mrs. Al Zack, Austin, Minn.; Mrs. Clarence Creamer, Covington, Ind.; Mrs. Glen Kephart and Mrs. Francis Penney, Mason City. Ten great grandchildren and one step grandchild also survive.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 9:30 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic church, with Father Carl Kurt in charge. Burial will be at St. Joseph's [Elmwood-St. Joseph] cemtery.

The body will lie in state at the McAuley and Son funeral home, where the Rosary will be said Thursday night at 8 o'clock. The body will be taken to the church Friday morning for the services.
