Obituary - George Allen
November 18, 1860 ~ May 23, 1940

George Allen, son of Elizabeth Allen Crabb and step-son of William Crabb was a devoted son [born November 18, 1860, East Coker, England]. At the age of 21, he came to the United States and encouraged his mother, father-in-law and his half siblings to join him. He lived in the Marcus and Thornton Iowa areas throughout his lifetime where he owned both a farm and later property in Thornton. His generosity helped his half siblings get started here in the US. His last years were spent with his half brother, Albert S. Crabb and his family.

Mr. Allen died May 23, 1940.

A kind, generous and loving man, he will be missed greatly by those who knew him.

[Interment was made at Pleasant View Cemetery, rural Thornton.]
