J. COX DIES OF HEART DISEASE
CLEAR LAKE MAN IS FOUND DEAD IN BED; HAD NOT BEEN ILL

CLEAR LAKE – SEPT. 18 –John Cox, South Fourth Street, died suddenly during Wednesday night and at 7:30 o’clock Thursday morning was found dead by his wife. A physician was called immediately after which Dr. W.E. Long, county coroner, was called and pronounced the death due to natural causes. A form of heart attack was given as the cause of death.

Mr. Cox had worked all day yesterday doing various odd jobs for the city. He did not complain any yesterday about feeling bad, altho he had been hindered for the past six months by injuries received to his legs in an accident last spring.

Mr. Cox has held the position of city assessor for the past 15 or 20 years. He was 68 years old at the time of his death. He leaves his wife and five children, Roy, Ray and Robert at home; Victor, Maywood, Cal., and Mrs. Ethel Braheny, Waukegan, Ill.

No funeral arrangements will be made until word is received from the children. Both Roy and Ray left the first of the week for Iowa City where they will attend college. The body is at the Ward Funeral Home, East main.
