E. P. CARPENTER RITES HELD AT LAKE CHURCH

CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for E.P. Carpenter, 83, former resident of Clear Lake who died at Winter Haven, Fla., were held at the Methodist church Friday afternoon. The Rev. Thomas B. Collins, pastor, conducted the rites and burial was in Clear Lake Cemetery. Williams Funeral Home made the arrangements.

Pallbearers were W.E. Rich, Elmer Nelson, Will Scherf, E.W. Winnie, S.J. Ott and R.D. Robbins. Mmes. Rich and H.N. Halvorson arranged the flowers. Mrs. L.E. Jacobson, accompanied by Mrs. Harry Mason, sang “Rock of Ages” and “In the Garden.”

Pfc. R.L. Anthony, Camp Murphy, Fla., a grand-nephew of Mrs. Carpenter, accompanied the body from Florida. A daughter, Miss Ethel E. Carpenter, Chicago, Ill., arrived for the services.

Transcriber’s Note – Eugene P. Carpenter was born May 10, 1860, died December 25, 1943 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section 5/6 Row 2.
