MRS. WALLACE FUNERAL SET FOR MONDAY

CLEAR LAKE – Mrs. C.W. Wallace, 88, 608 S. Third Street, died early Saturday in a Mason City nursing home, where she had been two weeks.

The funeral will be at the Ward Funeral Home, Clear Lake, Monday at 2 p.m. Dr. John E. DeLong, pastor of the Methodist Church, Clear Lake, will officiate. Burial will be in the Clear Lake Cemetery. Friends may call at the chapel after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Catherine Mary Wallace was born May 2, 1876, in Cahir County, Tipperary, Ireland, daughter of John and Ellen Lonergan. She lived in Ireland with her grandparents and came to join her parents in Waterloo.

She was employed as a waitress at the Logan House, Waterloo, an early-day landmark, and for the same company in hotels in Charles City and Mason City.

She was married to Charles W. Wallace, a Mason City barber, Jan. 5, 1898. In 1911, they moved to Clear Lake, where he opened a shop in the IOOF building. He preceded her in death in 1945. A daughter, Thelma, died in 1927.

Mrs. Wallace was a member of the D.A.R. and the Pythian Sisters.

Surviving are a son, Rae E. Wallace, who made his home with his mother; two brothers, Robert Lonergan, Reinbeck, and Thomas Lonergan, Evanston, Ill.

Pallbearers selected are Keith Raw, J.R. Buttleman, Fred Martin, M.P. Hughes, Ed R. Boyle, Karl Hass, T.W. Tompkins and C.C. Branson.
