WALLACE RITES ARE CONDUCTED
PRESBYTERIAN PASTOR OFFICIATES; BURIAL AT CLEAR LAKE

CLEAR LAKE, Sept. 24 – Funeral services for Bert C. Wallace, 57, were held Tuesday afternoon at the home on North Fourth street. Mr. Wallace was found in the basement of their home Sunday evening, a victim of suicide. The Rev. G.K. Davies, pastor of the Presbyterian Church, Mason City, officiated at the services. Burial was made in the Clear Lake Cemetery.

Mr. Wallace was born in Cascade, March 11, 1873. He was reared in this place. After marriage he and his wife settled in Cedar Rapids where they lived until they came to Clear Lake 20 years ago. Mr. Wallace was a painter by trade and was affiliated with the Maccabees.

He is survived by his wife, his son Harry, who is employed at the First National Bank, Mason City and one sister, Mrs. T.B. Aitchison, East Main Street.

Pallbearers were John Lungren, W.G. McGowan, W.W. Choate, W.C. Bieber, Herbert Copley and J.H. Johnson.

Transcriber’s Note – Bert C. Wallace was born March 11, 1873, died September 1930 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery, Section 1 Row 1. Headstone states his name as Burt.
