MRS. ELMER A. LUSCOMB

Mrs. Elmer (Bea) Luscomb, 73, 311 19th St. W., Clear Lake, died suddenly Saturday morning, at her home, just minutes after arriving home from the hospital.

Services were held Tuesday, September 28 at the United Methodist Church, Clear Lake, with Rev. Wayne Carlson, officiating. Interment was in the Clear Lake Cemetery with Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Harry Mason was the organist and Mrs. Donald Kacer, was soloist.

Beatrice Fern (Doyle) Luscomb, was born August 5, 1903 at Hampton , Iowa, the daughter of Nelson and Jennie Doyle. The family later moved to Clear Lake and she graduated from Clear Lake High School in 1921 and attended Hamilton Business College in Mason City.

She was married to Elmer A. Luscomb on Jan. 1, 1928, in Clear Lake. They farmed north of Clear Lake until moving to town in 1963. Mr. Luscomb had served as Cerro Gordo County Supervisor for 14 years.

She was preceded in death by her husband in 1974 and by a son Gary, at the age of 15 and five brothers and sisters.

Mrs. Luscomb is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Ross (Barbara) Blow, Waterloo, and two grandchildren, Douglas and Cindy Blow, Waterloo, one brother, Dr. LeRoy Doyle, Osage.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church and had been active on many church boards. She was a Past Worthy Matron of Park Chapter #85 O.E.S., the White Shrine and had served many years as a Red Cross Grey Lady.

Pallbearers were John Perkins, Nibbs Nesbit, Tom Treloar, James P. Hansen, Gerald Stevens and LeRoy French.
