ELVIN B. TEDDER DIES SUDDENLY IN ILLINOIS

CLEAR LAKE – Elvin B. Tedder, 57, Jacksonville, Ill., a former Clear Lake resident, died suddenly Thursday afternoon of a heart attack. Services are tentatively set for 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Ward-Van Slyke Funeral Home. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. Sunday.

Mr. Tedder was born Nov. 3, 1914, in Arkansas, the son of William and Dollie (Pettit) Tedder. He moved to Clear Lake with his family. He drove a transport for Skelly Oil Co., was transferred by the company to Iowa City and then to Jacksonville. He had been more recently employed by the Bound – to – Bound Book Bindery Co.

He was married Jan. 20, 1967, to Pauline Adam in Iowa City.

Besides his wife, he is survived by two sons, Elvin P. Tedder, Des Moines; Donald Tedder, with the U.S. Army in Germany; four daughters, Mrs. Darrell (Pat) Poling, Hampton; Mrs. Allona Foreman, in California; Mrs. Mike (Billie Jean) Morhauser, Elmira, Ore.; and Sue Tedder, Mason City. Also a half brother, Theodore Johnson, Clear Lake; 12 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother.

NOTE – Elvin B. Tedder was born November 3, 1914, died October 1971and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery Section B Row 3.
