LILA MAE GARRISON

CLEAR LAKE - Lila Mae Garrison, 89, of 1221 N. Seventh St., died Tuesday (June 4, 1996) at Oakwood Care Center.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the Christian Church, 302 Highway 18 West, with the Rev. Larry Squier officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., and will continue from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, and from 11:30 a.m. to time of services at the church.
Memorials may be made to the Christian Church in Clear Lake.

Mrs. Garrison was born Dec. 2, 1906, the daughter of Roy and Edith (Chesley) Willcox. She was united in marriage to Neil R. Garrison on Jan. 11, 1924. The couple lived in Duluth, Minn., for six years where three of their four daughters were born, and then lived in Fargo, N.D., for two years, where their youngest daughter was born. The family moved to Mason City in 1933, where they lived for 26 years, before moving to Clear Lake in 1959.

Mrs. Garrison was an active member of the Christian Church in Clear Lake for 60 years. She also did volunteer work at Handicap Village and at the Oakwood Care Center.

She is survived by three daughters, Arleen Randall and her husband, Ray, of Lake Havasu City, Ariz.; Levon Garrison of Terre Haute, Ind., and Marna Whaley of Tucson, Ariz.; one sister, Evelyn Hershey and her husband, Rod, of Metarie, La.; one brother, Milton Willcox and his wife, Maxine, of East Moline, Ill.; five grandchildren,Paul G. Bruns, Tamara Bruns, Mark Whaley, Gary Whaley and Jana Furton; four great-grandchildren, Ryan Whaley, Dane Whaley, Paul R. Bruns, Robyn Davidson and her husband, Dave; one aunt, Pauline Chesley of Mason City; several nieces and nephews; and two sisters-in-law, Mrs. Vivian Koslowski of Hibbing, Minn., and Ruth Willcox of Illinois.

Mrs. Garrison was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two brothers and one infant daughter.
