ROLAND F. “SATCH” BOHLEN

CLEAR LAKE — Roland F. “Satch” Bohlen, 76, of 807 W. 10th Ave. N., Clear Lake, died Thursday (May 4, 2006) at Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City.

Graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, May 8, 2006, at the Alexander Cemetery in Alexander with the Rev. Mark Young officiating.

Roland was born Nov. 18, 1929, at Alexander to Frank and Ella (Beenan) Bohlen.

Roland graduated from Alexander High School in 1947 and then attended business school. He worked as an Insurance Adjuster throughout Iowa and transferred to Clear Lake in 1976. After retiring, he worked for the Globe Gazette for 15 years.

Roland enjoyed woodworking, photography, traveling, playing cards, hunting and going down to Andy’s for coffee.

Roland is survived by his wife, Judy Bohlen; a daughter, Lori Starr, and her husband, Tim; two grandchildren, Jeff and Julie Starr, all of Clear Lake; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Delores Lavender.
