MRS. R. BAKER DIES AT HOME
WAS LIFELONG RESIDENT OF LAKE COMMUNITY

CLEAR LAKE – Mrs. Ray Baker, 56, died at her home east of Clear Lake at 5:15 Saturday morning following an illness of 9 years. Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at the Wilcox Funeral Chapel.

Mrs. Baker was born Matie Cobb, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E.T. Cobb, in Lincoln Township Sept. 21, 1891, and was married to Mr. Baker Dec. 23, 1914. They moved immediately to the home on the B.F. Baker farm where they have since resided.

Mrs. Baker became a member of the United Brethren Church in Lincoln Township in her youth and later transferred to the United Methodist Church in Clear Lake.

Besides her husband, Mrs. Baker is survived by 2 children, Frank R. Baker, Clear Lake, and Mrs. Reuben J. Brandau, Rudd; 2 grandchildren, Jon Baker and Mary Ann Brandau; a brother, Kenneth Cobb, 601 S. 2nd Street, Clear Lake, and a sister, Mrs. Magnus Johnson, 1108 3rd S. W., Mason City, and numerous more distant relatives.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

NOTE -- Matie or Maytie Baker was born September 21, 1891, died in 1948 and was buried in the Clear Lake Cemetery Section 1 Row 12.
