May 29, 1922 ~ September 30, 1997PLYMOUTH — Violet May Borchardt, 75, of Plymouth, died Tuesday (Sept. 30, 1997) at the North Iowa Mercy Health Center East, Mason City.
Memorial services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, 1997, at the Bride Colonial Chapel, 110 E. Spring St., Manly, with the Rev. Richard Pippert and the Rev. Deborah Stowers officiating. Inurnment will be in the Oakwood Cemetery in Plymouth.
According to her wishes, her body was cremated. Friends may call one hour prior to service time on Saturday at the Chapel.
Violet May Borchardt was born on May 29, 1922, in Mason City, the daughter of Wilber L. and Ora May (Beddow) Mansmith.
She attended and received her education in the Mason City School System.
She was united in marriage to Gerald George Borchardt Sr. on July 1, 1946, in Mason City. He preceded her in death on April 7, 1994.
Throughout her life, she worked as a cook in several places in Mason City.
She enjoyed playing 500 cards, crocheting and flowers, but her great love and enjoyment was her family.
She attended the Free Methodist Church in Plymouth.
Survivors include a son, Gerald Borchardt of Plymouth; three brothers, Harold Mansmith, of Mason City, Donald Tosevigen, Plymouth, and Everett Mansmith; one sister, Lorraine Klemensen, of Clarion; as well as other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.
