QUANDT DIES AT LAKE HOME
M. ANDERSEN FINDS AGED MAN’S BODY

CLEAR LAKE – Charles Quandt, 79, died at his home near the M.C, and C.L. railroad stockyards Sunday morning of natural causes, Dr. R. E. Smiley, county coroner, announced Monday. The body was found early Sunday morning by Martinius Andersen, a neighbor, who stopped to see Mr. Quandt before going to work.

Mr. Quandt had recently been dismisses from a hospital following treatment for a knee injured when he was struck by an automobile while crossing the street but this did not contribute to his death, Dr. Smiley said.

Mr. Quandt is survived by three sons, Harold, Clear Lake, and Clarence V. and Rennie, Mason City; 3 daughters, Mrs. Esther Schuster, Dubuque; Mrs. Carl Kluseman, Miller, and Mrs. Clarence Ward, Mason City; 13 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and a brother, Fred Quandt, Clear Lake.

Mr. Quandt, who was born in 1871, farmed near Meservey and Thornton during his active years. He was precede in death by his wife, a son, Arthur, and two grandchildren.

Funeral arrangements are incomplete. The body is at Ward’s Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Meservey Cemetery.

NOTE – Charles Quandt was born 1871 and died November 11, 1951.
