NORMA E. FATLAND

VENTURA -- Norma E. Fatland, 67, of 2302 242nd St., Ventura, died Monday (March 10, 1997) at home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Ventura United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Gobeli officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at the Ell Township Cemetery, Klemme.

Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, 101 N. Fourth St., Clear Lake, and one hour prior to services on Friday at the church. The family suggests memorials to the Norma E. Fatland Memorial Fund.

Norma was born Sept. 10, 1929, north of Mason City, the daughter of Clarence Robert and Helen Marie Elizabeth (Hagge) Holmes. She moved with her family to a farm north of Ventura in 1937
and graduated from Ventura High School in 1947.

Norma married Harold Albers on Sept. 28, 1947, at the Clear Lake United Methodist Church.

They farmed in the Klemme area until 1962 and then moved to a farm north of Ventura. In 1966, they moved to Ventura Heights to live, where she has lived ever since. Harold preceded her in death on June 3, 1968.

Norma worked at the Clear Lake Bank and Trust Company, Clear Lake, from 1972-1992. Norma married James Fatland on Jan. 7, 1977, at the Reformed Church, Klemme. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1995.

Norma enjoyed growing flowers, gardening, playing cards, being with her family and spending time with her sister. She was truly an angel among her family and friends. Norma was a member of the Ventura United Methodist Church, Ventura.

Norma is survived by her children, Cheryl Lutz and her husband, Randy, Mason City; Charlene Fatland and her husband, Silas, Wiley, Colo.; Sinva Opheim and her husband, Randy, Plymouth; and Olina Blasi and her husband, Jim, Hampton; 10 grandchildren, Lisa Lutz, Jesse Lutz, Nicole Fatland, Krystal Fatland, Kari Neuberger, Kyle Neuberger, Aaron Opheim, Megan Opheim, Chad Hanneman and Corey Hanneman; one great-granddaughter, Alexis Hanneman; one sister, Carolyn Albers, Ventura; and one brother, DuWayne Holmes and his wife, Darlene, Clear Lake.

She was preceded in death by her parents, two husbands and one infant brother.
