RICHARD V. EVENSON

CLEAR LAKE -- Richard V. Evenson, 53, 5851 S. Shore Drive, died Wednesday (Aug. 14, 1996) at the Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit, Mason City.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday at the Ward-Van Slyke Colonial Chapel, with the Rev. Fred Lewis of Clear Lake United Methodist officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park
Cemetery, Mason City. Visitation will begin at 4 p.m. today at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be given to the Richard V. Evenson Memorial Fund.

Richard was born June 26, 1943, in Mason City, the son of Virgel and Alene (Schneider) Evenson. Richard entered the Air Force in November of 1961 and served his country for 20 years retiring
as a civil engineer May 6, 1984.

Richard was a kind and loving man. He married Loma Decker on April 22, 1973, and she passed away April 22, 1982.

He married Bonnie Amundson on Dec. 29, 1990, in Las Vegas, Nev.

Richard worked for Unisys for six years until they closed, and then went to work for Cole Sewell for five years in the production area.

Richard is survived by his wife, Bonnie Evenson, of Clear Lake; mother, Mrs. Alene Fain of Sheffield; seven stepchildren, Dennis Amundson and his wife, Stephanie, of San Diego, Calif.; Jay Amundson and his wife, Linda, of Clear Lake; JoDee Cooling, of Fon du Lac, Wis.; Loma Vessey and her husband, John, of St. Paul, Minn.; Walter Decker and his wife, Lynette, of Florida, and Kathy Lolley of Louisiana; one brother, Gregory Evenson, of Boone; two sisters, Carolyn Smit and her husband, Delbert, of Sheffield, and Charlotte Frohling and her husband, Byron, of Waterloo; 19 step-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Virgel Evenson, and stepfather, James Fain; and his wife, Loma Evenson.
