March 06, 1920 ~ February 19, 2010MASON CITY - Florence E. Muldoon, age 89, of Mason City died Friday (Feb. 19, 2010) at the IOOF Home.
Memorial services will be at 1:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 22, at Major Erickson Funeral Home, 111 N. Pennsylvania Ave., with Harry Hamilton officiating. There will be no visitation. Upon Florence's wishes she was cremated.
Interment will be held in Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date. Memorials may be directed to the Florence Muldoon Memorial Fund, in care of the family.
Florence was born March 6, 1920, in Manly, the daughter of Walter and Louise (Dahl) Christianson. She attended schools in Albert Lea, graduating in 1938. She then attended Comptometer (The first key driven calculator) school. She was married to John Muldoon in Albert Lea, Minn., in 1950. She worked for Standard Oil Co. in Mankato, Minn., and also Mason City, she also worked at Decker's in Mason City, retiring in 1958. She was the bookkeeper at her husband's business, Muldoon Body Shop for many years until 1995, and was also a full-time devoted mother and wife.
Florence enjoyed quilting, crocheting, knitting, and also sold greeting cards. She also loved traveling with her husband and their travels took them around the world. She loved the time she spent with her family and friends and will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Florence is survived by her husband, John Muldoon, of Mason City; daughter, Carolyn J. McCauley, and husband, Kurt, of Mason City, and their children, Samantha and Jake; adopted son, Michael Muldoon and wife, Debbie, their children and grandchildren; sister, Opal Jacobson, of Albert Lea and brother, Robert Christianson of Albert Lea. She was preceded in death by her parents; and siblings, Marlin Christianson, Helen Peterson, and Pearl Bothum.
