Mrs. C. S. Deets of Emerson received a message Saturday afternoon telling of the death of her mother, Mrs. Clarence Mensch of Mason City, Ia. Mrs. Mensch, a former resident of Hopkins township [Whiteside Co., Illinois], moved to Iowa in 1901. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Deets and Mrs. Paul Barclay of Mason City, Ia., and three sons, Lee of Manley (sic), Ia., Glenn of Mason City, Ia., and Floyd of Los Angeles, Calif. A daughter, Lulu, preceded her in death [Nov. 12,1926]. Mrs. Deets and daughter Kathryn left Saturday night for Mason City.

Mrs. C. H. Mensch, 80, nee Lizzie A. Petty, died November 1, 1947, at 1:30 p.m., following a stroke. Mrs. Mensch was born July 1, 1867, at Emmerson, Ill., where she continued her residence until she was married to Clarence H. Mensch, September 2, 1886, at Sterling, Ill. They established their first residence in Hopkins township. In 1902 they moved to a farm north of Mason City, Iowa. She moved to Mason City in 1938.

Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. C. W. Deets, Emerson, Ill, and Mrs. Paul Barlcay, Mason City, Iowa; three sons, Lee C. Mensch, Manley (sic), Iowa, Glenn Mensch, Mason City, Iowa; and Floyd Mensch, Los Angeles, Calif.; thirteen grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
