Funeral for John Lock,
87, to be held Saturday

Mr. Lock was born Dec. 4, 1876, at Malta, Ill., son of James and Nancy (Safford) Lock. He came to Mason City shortly before the turn of the century and farmed northwest of Mason City until 1912.

Soon after the cement industry was started in Mason City, he was employed at the Northwestern States Portland Cement Co. pland as repairman and later held a similar position with the Lehigh Portland Cement Co. He was employed at the Decker plant in later years, retiring in 1951.

He was married to Dottie Wepking, Feb. 10, 1903, in Fennimore, Wis.

Surviving are his wife, two sons, Safford W. Lock, Mason City, and Russell Lock, Poughkeepsie, N.Y.; three daughters, Mrs. George (Elizabeth) Mehrtens, Lanham, Md.; Mrs. Rex (Ardith) Nelson, Naperville, Ill.; and Mrs. John (Wandalee) Allen, Kalamazoo, Mich., 12 grandchildren and a sister, Alice Switzer, DeKalb, Ill.

He was preceded in death by a daughter, eight brothers and three sisters.
