Obituary - Robert K. "Bob" Hermanson
April 07, 1924 ~ August 04, 2004

DEER PARK, Texas — Robert K. Hermanson, 80, formerly with the Hermanson Bros. Dairy, passed away Aug. 4, 2004 at his home in Deer Park, Texas.

Bob was one of the original members of the 10th Mountain Division, an elite group of soldiers trained for mountain warfare in Europe, where he was awarded the Bronze Star.

Upon his discharge from the military, he returned to Mason City and joined his father’s business, Hermanson Bros. Dairy.

Carnation bought the family business in 1954 and he was transferred to Texas in 1960 to continue his career with Carnation. He eventually retired from Carnation in 1971 after 26 years with the company.

In 1972, he began work with the City of Dallas as a weights and measures inspector, later becoming supervisor of that department. He retired from the City of Dallas.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pat, of Deer Park, Texas; two sons, John and wife, Peggy, and Tom, all of Midlothian, Texas; two brothers, Marvin and his wife, Betty, of Pasadena, Calif., and Melvin and wife, Betty, of San Diego, Calif.; one cousin, Everett and wife, Beverly, of Mason City; and numerous stepchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnie and Margaret; his first wife, Norma (Wolfe) Hermanson; his second wife, Peggy (Deaton) Hermanson; and a brother, Johnie Jr.

Interment was in the Houston National Veterans Cemetery.

NOTE: Bob was born April 7, 1924, Mason City, Iowa.
