Obituary - Barbara Ann Harrer
August 24, 1952 ~ February 19, 2012

Barbara Ann Harrer, 59, Mason City, died Sunday, Feb. 19, 2012, at the Muse-Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City.

A memorial Mass for Barbara will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 23, at Holy Family Catholic Church, 714 N. Adams Ave., Mason City, with Monsignor Joseph J. Slepicka officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Elmwood-St. Joseph Cemetery in Mason City.

Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday with a scriptural wake service at 5:30 p.m. at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, 126 Third St. N.E., Mason City. Following the visitation, cremation will take place.

Barbara's family would like to suggest that those wishing to give a memorial in her memory, may wish to consider contributions to Holy Family Catholic Church.

Barbara was born on Aug. 24, 1952, in Mason City, the daughter of F.J. "Jerry" and JoAnn (Hebel) Harrer. Barbara graduated from Mason City High School and was a lifelong resident of Mason City.

Barb enjoyed spending time outside, sitting on the front porch, listening to music and greeting people who came by. In her earlier years she loved to take walks and visit family, friends and neighbors. Barb enjoyed her winter trips (19 years) to Florida with her parents. She always enjoyed meeting new people.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, F.J. "Jerry" and JoAnn (Hebel) Harrer of Mason City; her five siblings, Steve (Julie) Harrer of Sioux Falls, S.D., Dave Harrer of Melbourne, Fla., Cathy (Mike) Boyle of Ankeny, Mike Harrer of Mason City, and Mary (Greg) Boyle of Omaha, Neb.; ten nephews and three nieces; as well as many other extended family members and friends.
