MRS. F. KIMBALL PIONEER RESIDENT DIED AT HOSPITAL
Mrs. Fred Kimball, 87, 1019 S. 3rd St., died Tuesday afternoon at a Mason City hospital following a lengthy illness. Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. at the Ward Funeral Home. Pastor Richard Ellingson of Zion Lutheran church will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Lake cemetery.
Cora Lambert Kimball was born Aug. 6, 1876 at Shabbona, Ill., the daughter of Russell and Emma (Heath) Lambert. In 1882 she came to Iowa with her parents to a farm north of Clear Lake. She attended Clear Lake schools.
She was married to Fred Kimball March 29, 1893 at Clear Lake by the Rev. R. R. Wood of the Congregational church. They farmed in Lime Creek township for several years, later moving to Clear Lake about 1903. Mr. Kimball was engaged in truck farming. He died in April 1951.
Mrs. Kimball was well known as a seamstress and flower gardener.
She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. E. L. (Essie) Secory, Clear Lake; Delight, at home; one son Ralph, at home; a brother, Earl Lambert, and a sister, Mrs. Ella Turner, both of Clear Lake; three grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Besides her husband she was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Laurence, who died at 9 years of age, and two brothers, Bertie and George Lambert.
