JOAN CAFFREY, 6 MO. DIES OF PNEUMONIA
JUNE 28, 1940 – DECEMBER 31, 1940

Joan Caffrey six month old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Caffrey, passed away Tuesday evening at 7:30 at a Mason City hospital from pneumonia. Funeral services were held Friday afternoon from Williams funeral home and burial was made in the Mt. Vernon cemetery. The Rev. Thos. B. Collins, pastor of the Methodist church, conducted the rites.

Pallbearers were four of her uncles, Joseph and Guy Caffrey and Dale and Wayne Barlow. Mrs. R. A. Monaghen sang “When He Cometh” and “A Little Pink Rose.” She is survived by her parents, a sister, Amy Lou, 14, and a brother James, 11. Also her grandparents Mr. and Mrs. James Barlow and Mrs. Leora Caffrey of Pleasantville.
