PLAN RITES FOR R. STURGEON, 38
LAKE FARMER TO BE BURIED IN MT. VERNON CEMETERY FRIDAY
CLEAR LAKE – Funeral services for Russell Sturgeon, 38, who died at a Mason City hospital Wednesday morning after a long illness will be held at Williams funeral home at 2 o’clock Friday. The Rev. Thomas B. Collins of the Methodist church will conduct the rites and burial will be in Mt. Vernon cemetery.
Mr. Sturgeon was born March 12, 1902 in Logan county, Ill., and came to Iowa when 12 years of age, residing on a farm with his parents. He attended rural school and on April 4, 1923, was married to Miss Alta Barlow. They made their home on a far, southeast of Clear Lake.
Besides his widow and daughter, Dorothy, 15, Mr. Sturgeon is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sturgeon, three brothers, Pete, Haven and Dale, all of Lincoln, Ill., and three sisters, Mrs. Charles Underwood, Lincoln, and Mrs. George Allen and Mrs. Harry Kudsk, both of Maywood, Ill.
NOTE – Russell Sturgeon died March 20, 1940.
